Some Favourite Blogging Resources

As you probably know I'm pretty new to blogging and when I started I didn't really know much about social media whatsoever.

Luckily there's such a great wealth of help and advice out there available for newbies like me that I thought today I'd share some of the resources that have really helped and inspired me. I love to sit back, relax and learn from others around me and find so much inspiration in so many blogs. From online courses, to YouTube videos here is just a small selection of some of the very helpful advice out there that I've personally enjoyed recently.

1. How to Run a Blog: Keeping Organised and Inspired - Media Marmalade

This is just one post from a series of great recent entries by Melissa with top advice and tips about starting a blog, keeping your morale high, how to take great photos and many other things in between. I love this blog for it's sharpness and style plus Melissa's advice is succinct and incredibly motivating and useful.

2. Blogging and Freelancing - Jenny Purr

Jenny writes regular posts with advice for bloggers and freelancers. From topics such as staying productive, your blog as a brand and finding your voice there's something for everyone here in such well put together and inviting to read posts.

3. A Guide to Blogging and Vlogging - Lily Pebbles and Vivianna Does Makeup

I've been following both Lily and Anna for a while now and they pretty much enable me to buy all sorts of beauty goodness that I don't really need but really, really love! Earlier this year they got together and filmed a series across their two YouTube channels with tips and tricks for blogging and vlogging. Including some very useful advice on cameras, lighting and recording equipment, this 6 part set of videos are certainly well worth a watch. Lily has also just filmed a new video answering some more questions about filming and editing for YouTube here.

4. The Blogcademy Home School

This is a fantastic online haven of blogging tutorials developed by top bloggers Gala Darling, Shauna Haider and Kat Williams. From the comfort of your desk you can download tutorials with all sorts of advice from how to put together your media kit to how to begin working with PR companies and brands. The first tutorial is free followed by nine optional paid downloads. Priced at $20 per module in my experience they are well worth it as the information that you take away comes in really very handy indeed!

So that's just a few of the brilliant resources that have been helping to inspire me over the past year. I appreciate there are many, many more out there. If you haven't come across any of the above then I hope that they come in useful.
