Howling Halloween Cocktails

Happy Halloween everyone!

Today on the blog a little light fun in honour of this Howling Halloween Friday afternoon. I have some Halloween cocktails, some easy Halloween treats and a little compilation of Halloween tunes to entertain you!

First up the cocktails. You may have seen on Instagram that I tested these out last week and am happy to report that they are delicious! To start with we have the Sweet Standard Sparkler (also a great shout for Bonfire Night) from the brilliant website The Cocktail Lovers.

You Will Need

50ml Russian Standard Vodka

1 tsp Honey

2-3 Ice Cubes

Fresh Ginger to garnish

Method: Shake ingredients in a Boston shaker and serve in a tumbler. Garnish with fresh ginger.

Secondly a Cointreau and Whiskey Cocktail found on the lovely Maple Spice Blog.

You Will Need

50ml Cointreau

25ml Whiskey

25ml Fresh Lime Juice (strain the pulp)

Method: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes and add all the ingredients. Shake very well then strain into a martini glass.

Please remember to drink responsibly - but do enjoy!

To accompany these delicious delights how about some really simple chocolate dipped marshmallows or banana chunks, maybe a taste of childhood but great all the same and very simple. Again these would also be great fun for bonfire night.

Simply melt a bar of your chosen chocolate in a bowl over a pan of gently simmering water. I used a dark chocolate with ginger in to make it more interesting and spicy for the autumnal season. Prepare your marshmallows or chunks of fruit on cocktail sticks, dip them in the melted chocolate and roll into your choice of toppings. Enjoy!

Well I hope you enjoy trying out some of the easy ideas above and let me know how you get on or if you have any of your own ideas to share.
