Yesterday on a lovely bright day in Windsor (from the look of today quite possibly the last one this year) myself and Dan headed off to Windsor Castle to embark on the Conquer the Tower guided tour. I wanted to share some of our pictures here on the blog today and let you know that there is still time to go, just! It ends tomorrow but if you can get here then do book yourself a slot and take the 40 minute tour.
As you can see you will be able to take in some fantastic views of Windsor and beyond. The Thames, Eton College, The Long Walk and if you're really lucky, and have a clear day, a little glimpse of London.
The tour involves a climb of 200 steps and is slightly steep and narrow so make sure you have the right footwear. You won't be able to take up any bags but they can be safely left and locked away at the meeting point before you head off. You can take up your camera (obviously!) but will be prompted when you can and can't take photos. Part of the tour looks over the Queens private apartments so understandably this is the point at which you're unable to get snap happy!
Book online before you go (phoning might be best as that's what we did and they had extra times available that weren't showing online) or buy your tickets if available at the entrance when you get there.
If you're unable to get a space or get along in time then I hope you'll get a taste of the lovely views from these photos and I certainly urge you to head along to Windsor Castle for a general look around it's stunning beauty whenever you get the chance.
