Well hello everyone! Today I wanted to share a recent cheeky and indulgent trip to the really very nice Flaming Cow that has recently opened its doors in Eton, Berkshire. Now there are a few new burger joints on the scene in this area and I certainly plan to check them all out in due course! However the other day Dan and I swung by the lovely Flaming Cow to give their unbelievably naughty but very, very nice burgers a try.
The first thing to say is that the staff at the Flaming Cow were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our greeting and introduction to the menu and the specials was quite possibly one of the best restaurant greetings and succinct and informative run throughs of what was on offer that we've ever encountered. Putting us in a very good mood for chowing down on our chosen delights.
Dan chose to try the aptly named 'Dirty Cow' burger. So titled thanks to it's double burger and many layers of oozing cheese. It looked ridiculously delightful and I'm reliably informed that it met all expectations. I myself went for something ever so slightly tamer, the BBQ and Bacon burger and I can honestly say it had everything that you look for in a meal of this kind. Medium cooked fresh meat, crispy bacon, melting cheese and tasty BBQ sauce all wrapped up in a delicious bun.
You do have to order your sides separately which brings the price up a little but the portions are very generous and with the size of our burgers just one portion of chips and a side of coleslaw between us was ample enough. In fact we probably didn't really need the coleslaw as everything was so filling, but it did go down a treat!
I'm told that the ribs are also well worth a sample so I certainly think we will stop by here again very soon to give them a try.
This is a delightful place with great staff and food that does exactly what it says on the tin but with great style and flavour. Not one for anyone watching their waistline but certainly worth dropping by when you need that well earned treat and wish to sample a classic burger at its very best.
